Planting trees will change the light, rainfall, and temperature of the surrounding area. This may be beneficial to some species, but could be detrimental to others. This includes taonga species such as native birds, plants, animals, or fish of special cultural significance and importance to Māori.
Learn from the past
What was the original land cover? How was it used? What can you learn from how the land was used historically?
Look to the future
