Find an expert

Do your homework, but then talk to a real person.

Knowledge on how to plant and manage native and exotic species can be found through NZ Farm Forestry Association. Tane's Tree Trust provides resources on establishment and management of indigenous forests. Registered professionals through the NZ Institute of Forestry provide specialist help on carbon accounting, timber and/or conservation.

Look for funding

Check if you're eligible for co-funding or grants from central or local government.

Tracking changes that trees have made on your land will require collecting some data.
